Modern Physics
has uncovered astounding levels of complexity and structure in
the very small universe. These pages might help you start to understand
what physics has achieved.
These achievements came in part from
predictions made by theroreticians who found patterns inside what
had already been observed. They made suggestions to experimenters
for where and how to look. Of course, some predictions were wrong,
but the Standard Model represents an astonishing history of rapid
success. (Remember, the neutron was only discovered in 1932)
