Script: This is a view of constant acceleration through a starfield. This headlight effect is how space travel at near-light speeds would appear, contrary to the special effects in Star Trek and Star Wars universes. But in this movie and in reality, C, the speed of light, is not and cannot be exceeded.

 

Comments : Although this looks like you're going backward, you're actually going forward ! As you go faster & faster, you "intercept light" more and more directly from the direction you're going in. Picture driving in the rain. The rain seems to come straight at you...even though it's falling DOWN.

The result is that objects to the left and right appear to move into your flight path. If you go fast enough, even objects already behind you appear in front of you, and your view of the entire universe becomes more & more restricted through a "porthole" directly in front of you.
